Functions of the human body explained with special emphasis on the senses of sight and hearing and the individual's responsibility to care for the house lived in. This film was part of Wonder series, made by the Moody Institute of Science, shares some similiarities with the Mr. Wizard television series - kids come by and visit the neighborhood scientist who is happy to demonstrate some science experiments. The difference, of course, is the obligatory Moody tip of the hat to the Supreme Being....

A filmmaker, Homer, records his young son, Matt, telling an imaginative story to his two younger sisters, Lisa and Maggie. Records the spontaneous tale with all the interruptions, comments and reactions of the sister. Can you name the celebrity in this film? An episode of Kate Smith's hour-long live variety series, with a mix of music, dancing and comedy. Guests included some country music acts (among them Hank Williams), and a comedy act called "Ethel and Albert". Contains the original commercials. Unfortunately my usual DVD ripper wouldn't rip this properly, so I had to use a different ripper, which is inferior.

This is a rare 16mm film shot during the 1970s about folk art in the state of Kansas, directed by Robert Wright. I features segments shot across the state and includes very rare film on the folk artist Inez Marshall. This is a new dub of the film from a 16mm print discarded by The University of Kansas.

If you think original series for summer are a "new" idea, you are mistaken. This series ran from April to August 1957. An interesting mix of normal music, novelty music, and a truly bizarre finale. Complete with the original, fun commercials for L&M cigarettes and Oasis cigarettes....no registration with the US copyright office as far as I can tell.

A team of astronauts crashes on the surface of Venus. Accompanied by their robot, they explore the surface and end up destroying the Venusian God. This film is also known as "The Gill Women" and "The Gill Women of Venus". This film began life as a Soviet-produced work. An American producer then added some new footage and changed the credits to hide the film's Soviet origin. The original film, "Planeta Bur", is also known as "Cosmonauts on Venus",...

Tension mounts between Peterson and the station commander, who believes he is in the way, but has orders to leave him alone. Errant spaceship Alpha Two enters the solar system and its photon generators are radiating enough heat to destroy Earth as it approaches. It falls to Peterson to try to figure out a way to enter the spaceship, disarm the generators, and...

Pop music show from Australia, which went through about a billion format changes during its 1958-1972 run. Unfortunately, there is a tape hiss sound in this episode, although I found that while I watched the episode I stopped noticing it after a while. Performers include: Merv Benton, Normie Rowe, Lynne Randell, Tony Worsley, Billy Thorpe & The Aztecs, Jacki Weaver, Julie Allan (sp?), Hal Fenner, Ray Brown & The Whispers (this is a poor-quality clip from another series...anyone know...

Not so much a commercial as an infomercial.  This 10 minute 1963 promotional reel for the A.C. Gilbert company highlights childrens' microscopes, telescopes, physics sets, electrical engineering sets, chemistry sets, electronics sets, and the ever-popular Erector sets.  An extensive TV ad campaign was planned the same year that this film was produced, but the country went into mourning over JFK's death, the networks slowed airing toy commercials, and toy sales plummeted.  The A.C. Gilbert...
